A Night Full of Festive Activities
The evening kicks off at 5:30 pm with “Activity Row,” where you’ll find all kinds of holiday fun for kids and adults alike. Think face painting, live reindeer sightings, and train rides aboard the Avenue Express—just the ticket to keep those early winter chills at bay. The train rides cost $6 per rider, or $8 if you decide to hitch a ride on Santa’s sleigh, and they’re well worth it for the smiles they bring.
Young ones will be mesmerized by a children’s magician and the various festive photo ops set up around the plaza. And it wouldn’t be a true holiday celebration without a bit of roaming entertainment—expect a surprise or two from the performers scattered throughout the venue.
Music, Santa, and The Big Countdown
At 6 pm, live music takes the stage with The Union providing tunes to keep everyone moving and grooving. Their melodies set the perfect backdrop to keep spirits high as we all wait for the main event—the arrival of Santa Claus himself.
At 7:30 pm, Santa will make his grand entrance to cheers from the crowd, ready to bring that extra touch of magic to Avenue East Cobb. Then, at 7:50 pm, the moment everyone’s been waiting for will finally arrive. The countdown will begin, leading to the lighting of the stunning 26-foot Christmas tree that’s guaranteed to make your holiday photos absolutely shine.
And with that, the night will wrap up, and it’ll be time for the big man in red to head off for some well-deserved rest before a busy December.
What to Know Before You Go
Parking for the event is free, but spaces tend to fill up quickly. To make things easier, consider carpooling or using a rideshare service for a smooth arrival. Should parking be full, there’s additional parking available across the street at Merchants Exchange.
Activity Row starts promptly at 5:30 pm, with lines closing at 7:15 pm—just in time to gather for Santa’s big arrival. Guests are encouraged to head to The Plaza to get a prime spot for the countdown.
